FATS- When people hear the word "Fat", it automatically brings them into shock (well, at least to me! I used to think fats are my worst enemies when I was younger) Well believe it or not, extra virgin olive oil is categorised as one of the healthy fats. Diet low in healthy fats brings dull skin, brittle hair and nails and weight gain.
Our body need Omega fatty acids because our body doesn't make them, finding sources of Omega 3's to add into your daily diet will help. They can be easily found in salmon, chia seeds and walnuts.
Benefits of Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
By adding olive oil in your diet, it can help with your skin, hair and to stop your cravings. Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Olive Oil is the best because it doesn't contain chemical, it's extracted with natural methods and it keeps the quality such as taste and smell of the olives.
Extra Virgin Olive Oil is fairly packed with nutrition. It contains Vitamin E and K (detailed post coming soon). It is jam-packed with antioxidants, anti-inflammatory properties, lower cholesterol, lowers blood pressure and lowering the risk of cancer.
Cautions: Olive oil falls into the category of monounsaturated fatty acids, it can be heated at a level of high heat but not for too long as it will damage and create harm to your body.
Tips: for using olive oil is light simmer on top of your food when baking, or using it in your salads. Try not to cook with olive oil at such a high heat or you'll destroy it's healthy properties.

What can it be used for besides cooking?
1) Moisturising your body and skin- A dab on your nails, face or even hair can make a huge difference. It hydrates your body and skin leaving it plumped up. Just a tiny bit would do, you don't want to end up like a greaseball like when I did mine! *teehee.
2) Eye Make Up remover- Save big bucks on oil make up remover, using olive oil is the safest way to not irritate your eye. Dab a bit of olive oil on a cotton pad and wipe away! Not only removing the makeup, but it will also condition your lashes.
3) Creating your own mask- DIY your own mask at home on a sunday or any day you feel like you deserve a pamper evening! Honey, sugar and a bit of olive oil is all you need. Mix them together and you'll have your own scrub!
I hope this gives you an insight on the benefits of Olive oil!
